War Horse Creek Announces Gift Matching Program & Opportunities to Meet the Team In-Person in Southern California

[Mountain Center, Calif., July 6, 2021] – War Horse Creek launched a fundraising campaign in April 2021 to raise money to build Camp Harris, the location of their immersive transition training program. This program will bring veterans together with rescued wild mustangs to help the veteran adjust to civilian life after service.

As of today, War Horse Creek is halfway to their goal of raising $150,000. Generous donors from across the country have given to the campaign, which will be allocated to complete the build-out of the War Horse Creek facilities and infrastructure.

Located in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, War Horse Creek aims to offer 3, 5 and 7-day sessions based around Collaborative Horsemanship. This approach gives veterans the opportunity to master skills that often go dormant during their military tenure – empathy, patience, understanding, kindness and compassion. Once these skills are mastered with the mustangs, they will be ingrained as adaptive habits that can be transferred to family, friends and society.

To aid in funding efforts, War Horse Creek recently announced a collaboration with Iris Technology Corporation, the premier provider of reliable, low EMI tactical power management systems for the US military. Iris will be generously matching all donations to War Horse Creek from now until Veterans Day 2021. The War Horse Creek team sends their gratitude to Ed O’Rourke, CEO of Iris Technology and former Board Chairman of Living Free, for making this gift possible.
