Taffy came to Living Free in August 2020 along with her four puppies.  She charmed our staff right away with her exuberant personality.  She was a wonderful and playful mother.  Taffy’s babies:  Rollo, Heath, Skittles and M&M, also known as “The Candies”, were adopted quickly leaving Taffy to find her own home.

In October of 2020, Judi Greene of Idyllwild, contacted Living Free to see if there was a small dog available for adoption.  She had just recently said goodbye to her beloved dog and was ready to find a new companion. Judi was introduced to Taffy and she was instantly captivated by her.  Judi decided that she would love to adopt Taffy and on October 14, 2020, Taffy went home with Judi.

Judi said, “I changed her name to Lucy.  She is a wonderful little dog, and a great companion.  She has just the right amount of playfulness and energy mixed with laid back and cuddly.  It took her a while to play with her toys, but lately she has begun to play with them.  I recently took her to an outdoor concert in Idyllwild.  She jumped out of my lap to say hi to other people looking for pets.  She loves the attention and doesn’t want people to stop petting her.  She is very, very friendly and loves everyone, including other dogs.”

Recently, Judi decided she was ready to add one more pup to her family.  On August 1st, Judi met Oliver, a rescue with ARF in Idyllwild.  She decided that Oliver would be the perfect fit for both her and Lucy and brought him home that very day.

Judi shared, “Oliver is one happy camper!  Now I have two of the sweetest little dogs ever.  I have had Lucy for a year now and I have never seen her play like she does with Oliver.  They are crazy about each other, and I am crazy about them!”

Thank you, Judi, for loving Lucy and Oliver and giving them a chance at a better life.  It looks like you found the perfect companion for you and Lucy. We need more folks to reach out and consider adopting.  There are many wonderful dogs looking for a lap to sit on, food, a warm bed, and a gentle touch.
