Book a Tour!

Our team is excited to announce that we’re now offering in-person tours of the Living Free property, available to groups of 5 or less. This behind-the-scenes tour gives visitors an insider’s look into Living Free Animal Sanctuary, including the cattery, dog kennel, and you’ll also get to meet the horses and donkeys which are part of our veteran program called War Horse Creek.

The town of Idyllwild has always been known as a stomping ground for artists, musicians, hikers, rock climbers and bikers who are drawn to this little enclave. The Pacific Crest Trail runs right through Main Street. Then there’s Idyllwild Arts Academy, the Art Alliance, the Rotary Club, and Astro Camp.

It is home to the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema and the world-famous Jazz In The Pines Festival that features over two dozen jazz, blues and R&B bands benefiting Idyllwild Arts.

Located on Living Free’s 155 acres —  rescued mustangs and burros have been given a second change of life.

Living Free’s program War Horse Creek is an immersive transition training program using rescued wild mustangs to assist veterans as they adjust to civilian life. Click here to learn more.
